While the origin of butterscotch is somewhat contested it’s largely agreed it originated in England, and this smooth and sweet confectionary has many uses as a sauce, a sweet and more besides. The most common recipe includes brown sugar, butter and cream – the result is a rich and sweet taste with smooth notes similar to toffee or caramel. Arguably too rich to be used on it’s own, it appears in eliquids as part of more complex blends – serving to sweeten desserts such as banoffee pie and to soften tobacco blends.

Luckily, butterscotch flavours appear in eliquids that are both high VG and high PG – meaning they can be used by vapers of all kinds whether they use small starter kits or larger devices. Like a lot of the more complex flavour notes the taste differs when vaped at higher and lower wattages. High wattage vaping has a tendency to emphasise the buttery notes for a smoother taste; whereas lower wattage vaping helps to emphasise the sweetness. Neither create a harsh note and butterscotch accompanies desserts, pastries and even fudge for a sugary vape.
